About this Limited Edition:
Our Fourth Limited Edition Kinetacube Ring Box, the LE4-Titan, is a collaboration between Degrees of Freedom and Titan Ring Designs. Machined from solid Grade 5 titanium and featuring a tumbled finish, LE4 is truly a piece of jewelry in and of itself.
We originally connected with Titan Ring Designs in 2019 based on our shared love for mechanical art. Titan Ring Designs specializes in the creation of fine mechanical jewelry with titanium machining as their chosen medium. When it came time to explore the application of our ring box design to new materials, Titan was a natural, values-aligned fit. They've since managed to apply their obsessive attention to detail to this product and the result is truly exquisite.
In addition to adopting an especially challenging and robust material in its construction, LE4-Titan rolls in continued refinements to the underlying mechanism based on our experience with LE3. These are without a doubt our most buttery and reliable Kinetic Ring Boxes we've offered to date.
Like previous runs, all purchases include complementary laser engraving of a custom message. These messages are placed discretely on a panel edge where they're visible while the box is open but concealed when closed.
Each box in this limited run of 10 pieces is laser-marked with its individual number, assembly date, design iteration, and design version. These markings are positioned such that they aren't visible to the ring's recipient when the box is presented. Customized engravings will be placed in the same location on an adjacent panel to ensure that your personalized message is the only text that the recipient may see when the ring is revealed.
Piece numbers within the run will be issued to customers in the order of purchase.
About the Ring Box:
In the Kinetacube Ring Box's patented design, six faces of a cube are formed by the links of a mobius kaleidocycle mechanism. With each face mapped to an individual link, the entirety of the box transforms during the opening process, revealing its contents in one fluid motion. Its single degree of freedom movement results in motion which is fluid, satisfying, and will continue to mesmerize even years after introduction.
Inside of the ring box's machined aluminum mechanism, a velvet-wrapped foam insert is installed to carry the box's contents. While closing, the insert's segmented design is wrapped around the ring, holding it securely in place. When opened, the foam insert flattens while continuing to grip safely onto the ring.
To permit opening of the ring box's mechanism, its back has a curved opening which is covered by its velvet-wrapped insert while closed. The pointed ends of three curved panels act as feet which allow the box to sit on its end.
While we offer flat rate shipping for all international orders, packages may be subject to additional import duties during delivery depending on the country. Due to the variety of locations that we serve, we rely on customers to manage regional policies and fees for their specific order.
This ring box is out of this world cool. The way it opens up,to the quality of box and box stand. Steve was more than happy to answer to all my questions and demands. And shipping was superb fast and simple from US to Croatia.I highly recommend this to everyone.
Thank you
I’ve been looking for one of these for ever , I’m glad I found it thank you for having one !!!
The moment I saw the kinetic ring box, I instantly knew this was what I wanted to use. The box did not disappoint. Excellent craftsmanship all round. Feels solid to hold. Very neat design as well. First reaction from others is - wow. Ring is on the way, can’t wait to see it inside the box.
Took me about a minute to figure out how to open it but getting slicker at doing it. Steve was also responsive in email. Reminder to those who are engraving things, triple check the details and not be a silly goose like me who made an error!
The Invixiball is one of those rare objects that’s both fun and fascinating — a perfect blend of form and function. Whether it’s displayed as a sleek desk accent, bounced around like a playful stress-reliever, or simply rolled between your fingers while you think, this seemingly simple lattice sphere continually surprises.
Visually, its precise geometric pattern and uniform shape are incredibly eye-catching. Tactilely, it’s light as a feather, yet feels as solid and strong as a space-grade alloy. The way it compresses and rebounds gives it kinetic energy you wouldn’t expect from something that looks so elegant and sculptural. The bounce has a uniquely satisfying “ping” to it — a blend of sound and sensation that’s oddly addictive.
It’s the kind of object that draws curiosity, invites interaction, and holds up to all the attention it gets. If you’re even slightly intrigued, don’t hesitate — you won’t regret adding one of these to your collection.
Exactly as promised (have not and will not do the compression test though).
Quality precision manufacturing.
While not an enjoyer of math, I have always appreciated pieces like this. It started with buckyballs, tensegrity and more, now there is this Invixiball. Somewhere down the line someone will probably try and anodize this from both heat and electrochemically. But I will just keep it as a sculpture toy.
